One platform for commercial solar. Not five.

Most C&I developers and design consultants run every project across a stack of tools that don't talk to each other — losing hours to re-keying and hand-offs in the gaps. Keystone is the connected platform that ties it together: origination, design, finance, interconnection, and permits in one workflow.

Built by a solar operator, not a tech tourist. Used in production today through GS Permits.

Why it matters

Commercial solar is scaling — the back office hasn't kept up.

The problem

The 5-tool tax on every C&I project.

Nobody set out to run their business across five tools that don't talk. It just happened — a design tool here, a proposal tool there, spreadsheets for finance, email for permits, a file share for the data room. Every hand-off leaks hours and introduces a place for the numbers to drift.

If you develop or design C&I solar

You're paying the re-keying tax.

  • The same project gets re-entered into 5 tools — CRM, design, proposal, financial model, permit package
  • Your proposal and your finance model are two different spreadsheets that quietly disagree
  • No single source of truth — the "final" numbers live in a spreadsheet or someone's inbox
  • Submissions bounce for predictable reasons no tool ever learns from
  • Hours per project lost in the gaps — time you can't bill and can't get back

If you build C&I solar

Your crews are ready. The pipeline isn't.

  • Capacity sits idle while origination is the bottleneck
  • The deals that do come in arrive half-baked — no clean design, no real financial model, no permit path
  • You chase missing info across email threads before you can even bid
  • Every rejected interconnection or permit submission is rework you eat
  • No single source of truth between sales, design, and the field

How it works

From first site visit to switched on. One platform.

Keystone is one place from the first site visit through permission to operate. It doesn't replace the tools you love — it replaces the gaps between them, so the project that lands in your CRM is the same project that ends up as a stamped planset and a funded deal.

1

Origination → Design

Contact management, project setup, system layout, electrical design, engineering diagrams, and code-compliant sizing — all in one place. The project that lands in your pipeline becomes a stamped, permit-ready planset.

2

Estimate → Proposal → Finance

Itemized estimates, AI-drafted client proposals, and complete financial models — payback, return, and cash flow. The finance numbers are the proposal numbers, so nothing drifts between them.

3

Interconnection, Permits, Execution

Interconnection tracking, AHJ-specific permit packages, data room isolation for bidders. The C&I workflow nobody else automates.

Who it's for

What you get out of using it.

One platform serves every seat in the deal — and each one stops paying a different tax.

Developers & design consultants

One platform, end to end.

  • Enter a project once — design, proposal, financial model, and permits all draw from it
  • Reclaim the hours you lose to re-keying and hand-offs
  • Work the whole project in one place — no jumping between tools
  • Proposal and finance numbers that can't drift apart

Installers & EPCs

Buildable projects, not half-baked leads.

  • Take in design-ready, financed, AHJ-cleared projects
  • Spend crew time building, not chasing missing info
  • One source of truth between sales, design, and the field
  • Fewer rejected submissions, less rework you eat

Financiers & asset owners

Pre-vetted deals, standardized.

  • Standardized packages: stamped planset, real financial model, interconnection position, permit clearance
  • Cut analyst overhead on every deal you review
  • Private, isolated data rooms and full audit history
  • A higher-conversion, apples-to-apples pipeline

What it saves you

More than time — though it saves plenty of that.

Take a 4-person C&I shop running about 30 commercial projects a year. Three places the platform pays for itself: faster project cycles, reclaimed coordination time, and designs at a fraction of market.

Finish sooner. Get paid sooner.

When origination, design, finance, interconnection, and permitting share one workflow, projects keep moving instead of stalling between disconnected tools and hand-offs.

  • Better cash flow — milestones and final payment land weeks earlier
  • Freed capacity — the same team carries more projects per year
  • Market timing — move on incentives and pricing windows before they close
STANDARD WORKFLOW ~14 wks ON KEYSTONE ~9 wks ≈ 5 weeks sooner — cash in hand

Illustrative project cycle — concept to final payment.

Reclaimed every yearPer year
~8 hrs/project of admin, development, tracking & project management × 30 projects × $90/hr+ $21,600
Fewer rejected permit / interconnection submissions+ $3,000
Coordination time reclaimed≈ $24,600

Separate from the faster project cycles above — and from the design savings at right.

Designs at a fraction of market.

Project designs delivered through the platform:

Under 100 kW$2,500
Up to one interconnection & one site$5,000
Engineer's stampAdded as needed

Comparable design work on the open market typically runs two to three times that — a saving of roughly $2,500–$10,000 per project.

Illustrative — adjust to your shop. Cycle times, hours, project volume, blended rate, and design scope all vary; swap in your own numbers and the case only strengthens at higher volume. Design pricing covers the design deliverables; the engineer's stamp is added per project as required.

Why I built this

I'm a customer first. The platform exists because I needed it.

Every commercial solar project I touched lived across five tools that didn't talk. Every workflow gap cost me money on real deals. So I built the platform I wanted to use.

Keystone runs my own projects through GS Permits today — and it's now available to other developers, designers, and financiers facing the same problems.

This isn't a tech founder learning solar. This is a solar operator who built tech because nothing existed.
